About the project
The Manny Batshaw Fund for At-Risk Children was created in honor of the long-time president of the Jerusalem Foundation Canada, Manuel Batshaw. The fund has provided support over many years for dozens of organizations and programs that serve poor children, teenagers who have dropped out of school or been involved with drugs, and many other vulnerable populations. The fund has supported organizations such as Elem, Tkumat Ari’eh, the Israel National Council for the Child (a children’s rights organization) and Crossroads (a social work program for English-speaking teenagers), municipal and community center-based projects including several sports programs, and programs to provide subsidized tickets for disadvantaged children to visit the Tisch Family Zoological Gardens in Jerusalem, the Bernard M. Bloomfield Science Museum, the Ein Ya’el Lving Museum and other cultural facilities.
