About the project

The Multi Purpose Hall at the Adi Yaffe Community Center in Gilo in memory of Max Gideon, was built for the pupose of helping Ethiopian immigrants integrate into Israeli society and with veteran Israelis. .
Ethiopian immigrants brought with them a rich and varied culture of music and dance, as well as arts and crafts like basket weaving, embroidery and ceramics. The Max Gideon Multi Purpose Hall provided a space where not only were they able to express their unique culture, but where they could also learn Hebrew, listen to lectures, celebrate special events and holidays meet with Israelis and integrate into the community.
