About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation established the Mikbatz Youth Counseling Center in 1990. The center is operated by the municipality’s Unit for the Treatment of Youth at Risk, whose social workers, psychologists and other professionals work with schools, community centers, the IDF and other institutions to identify and help teenagers and young adults, aged 14 to 26, who are having serious trouble adjusting to their social, academic or work environments. They provide counseling and legal advice on personal problems, drug use, work issues, army preparation and more. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovations to create the center’s first permanent home, which includes six counseling rooms and a meeting area, and supported its programs.
