About the project
The Ofek (Horizon) School for Gifted Children provides innovative classes to approximately 350 elementary school-age children each year from all over the city who attend the program instead of their regular schools one day per week. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovations to the school’s1930s Arab-style building in 1987. Work included interior and exterior improvements, creation of laboratories and purchase of equipment and furnishings. In 1990, it supported creation of a meterological laboratory. The facility became part of the Beit Hatza’ir school when the Ofek School moved to a new building in the Ramot neighborhood.
