About the project

The Sakharov Gardens are located at the northwestern entrance into Jerusalem, above the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway. The terraced gardens are named for the Soviet nuclear physicist, dissident and human rights activist Andrei Sakharov (1921-1989). The Jerusalem Foundation supported plans for extending the garden and creating a promenade within it in 2004.
