About the project

The Shalom Hartman Institute is a religious research and leadership training institute. The institute seeks to revitalize Judaism, strengthen Jewish identity and foster religious pluralism by providing scholars, rabbis, educators, and lay leaders of all denominations with tools to address the central challenges facing Judaism today. The Charles E. Smith High School, a public religious high school, shares the institute’s campus. The institute was founded by Rabbi Professor David Hartman in 1976.
