Ein Kerem, 2 Hama'ayan st.

About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation renovated the basement of the Bertha Goodman (Broshim) School to create the Sons of Abraham Club in 1996. The youth club replaced a small, poorly equipped club in disrepair at another location in Ein Kerem. The club offers cultural, sports and recreational activities for Jewish and Arab children living in the village of Ein Kerem, including some 50 Arab boys who live at the Sisters of the Rosary Orphanage. Renovation work included digging out the basement area, overhauling the electrical and plumbing system and acquiring furnishings. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported club activities, including a summer camp and a soccer team that draws Jewish and Christian children from Ein Kerem and Muslim children from the village of Beit Safafa.
