About the project

A TASTE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN – A two day International Conference focusing on authentic Mediteranean cuisine., and exploring the secrets of the mediteranean kitchen, nutritional make-up and health benefits as well as the central place of food in Mediterranean culture.
Chefs from both Israel and the Palestinian Authority, “Chefs for Peace” highlighting what they both have in common in the kitchen. While Prof Mohammed Shaeen toalks about the ingriedients of the traditional Palestinian kitchen, Erez Komrovsky talks about the bread revolution in Israel.
Some of the international participants include food writer and cookbook author Phyllis Glazer, and Claudia Rodan as well as Carlo Petrini of Italy and Vedat Basaran of Turkey.
After hearing about food all day long, participants eventually got to see food with the opening of a photographic exhibition : “Taste of the Mediterranean” in the Dwek Gallery.
Finally on the second and last day of the conference, a demonstration of selected Mediterranean dishes by top Chefs from around the Country. Definitely food for thought!
