About the project
French Jewry Square is a small plaza in the pedestrian mall of the Nachalat Shiva shopping district. The square was created to honor the 40th anniversary of the Fonds Social Juif Unifie (FSJU), the central organization of French Jewry, which is a partner in fundraising and solidarity programs. The square features a sculpture by sculptor and ceramicist Moshe Shek. Shek was born in Poland in 1936 and immigrated to Israel in 1948. He became a founding member of Kibbutz Bet-Nir, where he continues to live and work.
