About the project

In 1980, the Jerusalem Foundation built a sport court next to the Beit Elisheva Park in Old Katamon. The following year, it renovated, furnished and equipped a public bomb shelter next to the court to create the Irene & Fred Lewy Youth Club. The club provides activities for neighborhood teens and has served as home to the Zionist Youth Council, an organization that has involved teens from all over the city in immigrant absorption projects. The Foundation has supported educational, social, cultural and sports activities at the club since its establishment.
