About the project
The Jerusalem Foundation established the Jacob & Sara Feldman Community Center in 2000 to meet the educational, recreational and social needs of the approximately 50,000 residents of Pisgat Ze’ev. The $4 million, centrally located center was designed by Ulrich Plesner with terraces and inner courtyards to blend with the site’s topography. The facility originally included a multi-purpose hall, a preschool activity center, a youth club, ballet and martial arts studios, a science room and arts workshops. The Foundation later supported additions, including a fitness room, a seniors club, a youth wing and the Fannie & Bernard Schaenen Music Center, a music school for neighborhood children. The Foundation also has supported a range of activities for pre-schoolers, children, youth, adults and the disabled.
