About the project
The Jerusalem Opera Society was established in 1977 with the goal of creating an opera company of international standards in the city. The society’s founders sought to add a new dimension to the city’s cultural life, and to provide employment to Israeli singers and musicians, many of whom were leaving the country in order to find employment.The society organized productions and led workshops under the auspices of the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music & Dance.
