About the project

The Maccabi Salzberger Memorial Lecture Fund was created to enable an annual lecture to be held at the Israel National Academy of Science in Jerusalem in memory of Dr. Maccabi Salzberger. Dr. Salzberger was a renowned Israeli gynecologist with an expertise in fertility issues who served as director of the Misgav Ladach General Hospital 1964-1983. He was also a strong believer in the need to develop accord between Jews and Arabs. The annual lecture was devoted to the topic of either contemporary medical, legal and ethical fertility issues or aspects of Jewish-Arab relations presented by leading physicians, members of Knesset, authors and others. In 2006, the lecures were discontinued and the fund was directed to social aid projects.
