About the project

The Succat Shalom Schusterman Center for Children & Families is dedicated to helping physically, sexually and emotionally abused children. The center, which is operated by Tkumat Arie, consists of an emergency care shelter, a residential unit for diagnosis, couselling and short-term intervention, and an outpatient unit offering treatment programs. The center, formerly called the Jerusalem Emergency Center for Children & Their Families, previously had a residential unit in Gilo and a therapeutic facility in the city center. In 1995, the center moved to a permanent home and was renamed the Schusterman Center. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovations and refurbishments to the building to create residential, therapy and education wings. Since then it has provided annual support for activities such as dental programs and summer camps.
