About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation established the James & Edith Ross Youth & Community Center to serve the Givat Sha’ul and Har Nof neighborhoods in 1973. The facility originally included activity rooms, a multi-purpose hall for sports and community events and an outdoor sport court. The Jerusalem Foundation later supported additional renovations to the facility, including addition of a wing and creation of the Emanuel Spitzer Library and the Grobman Family Library, for which it provided equipment and books periodically over the years. It also has supported enrichment activities and special education programs for children and at-risk youth, programs for new immigrants, bridge clubs and community theater for adults, and programs of the center’s club for senior citizens.
